Aneel – National Electric Energy Agency also released, during Thursday (27), some EOL tests in Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, and Paraíba
Previously, the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) released the operation of three generating units of the Vila Piauí III Wind Farm, located in the municipality of Serra do Mel, in Rio Grande do Norte. With this, units 1 to 3, of 4.2 MW each, totaling 12.6 MW of capacity.

Aneel deliberated on the start of commercial operation of the Vila Piauí II wind farm, which involves about 09 wind turbines that will be installed soon in Serra do Mel, located in Rio Grande do Norte (RN).
Working in conjunction with Aneel, EOL of the winds has been authorized for initially 05 of the nine wind turbines, only in the testing phase for data collection. The 05 wind turbines should generate a total of 21 MW of power in their initial testing phase approved by Aneel.

Aneel Approves More Companies for Testing Phases
The latest wind energy companies to receive positive feedback from Aneel for data collection during the testing period were Miriri Alimentos e Bioenergia and Poço Fundo Energia. Miriri will test 11.3 MW divided among its four units, and Poço Fundo Energia will test two turbines totaling 14 MW.
Wind Energy Market on the Rise in Brazil
Finally, the high performance of the winds is one of the reasons placing the country among the largest global generators. Unidirectional, constant, fast, and with little turbulence, the Brazilian winds rank among the best in the world in these criteria and are ideal for spinning the wind blades more intensely, allowing for maximum utilization of the wind turbines, as well as increased electricity generation.
Wind energy is the most competitive and fastest-growing renewable source in the world. According to the 2026 Ten-Year Energy Expansion Plan (PDE 2026), conducted by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and the Energy Research Company (EPE), the expectation is that the total installed wind energy capacity in Brazil will reach 28.5 GW by 2026, which would represent 12.5% of the Brazilian energy matrix.
