The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
Grupo Interalli is developing projects that add up to around 1 GW of energy. In total, there will be 3 complexes with solar power plants in Piauí. The aforementioned Marangatu, which has already been approved by Aneel, Carnaúba, which will consist of 9 solar power plants on an area of 1,300 hectares and will generate approximately 392 MW of energy, and finally, the Complex of Brasileira, which will have 6 solar power plants installed on an area of 800 hectares and will produce around 232 MW of energy.
Words From Grupo Interalli
According to Fabrício Slavieiro Fumagalli, director of Grupo Interalli, the three solar energy complexes will have more than 1 GW and will generate multiple job opportunities, development, and income for Piauí. He states that the group chose the state due to its prominence in recent years in attracting investments in renewable energy sectors, especially solar energy.
According to Slavieiro, the solar energy market is one of the major generators of renewable jobs, both in the areas of manufacturing, distribution, installation, as well as in sales and project development.
Piauí Gains Emphasis In The Solar Energy Industry
Piauí is experiencing significant growth in the installation of solar power plants and has been a reference in the country for more than 4 years. According to data from ABSOLAR, the state is a leader in centralized generation.
In 2020, also according to Absolar, the installed capacity was approximately 989.9 MW. Following closely was Ceará, with 829.1 MW, and in third place, Bahia, with 776.8 MW.
