After about two years of studying through an online course, he was approved in 1st place in the general competition for the position of judicial technician at the Court of Justice of Roraima (TJRR), in a selective process with more than 14 thousand applicants.

TJRR Exam and Record Competition

According to data from FGV, the position of judicial technician received more than 14 thousand applications, within a total of over 20 thousand candidates in the TJRR exam.
Other approved candidates had final averages below 82 points.
Rafael and the second-place candidate recorded 84.8 points, and he ranked first according to the tie-breaking criteria defined in the notice.
He reported that the approval wasn’t immediately absorbed. “I was in disbelief. I still can’t believe I passed such a competitive exam with 14 thousand applicants,” he said.
Origin, Childhood Work, and Family Support
Living in Rorainópolis, Rafael started helping his father in construction during his childhood. At the age of 10, he already followed part of the work on construction sites.
Throughout his basic education, he studied in a public school and split his time between studies and activities in construction.
The young man is the eldest son of a bricklayer and a municipal public servant. His family supported him during his preparation for the exam until the final results were announced.
Intensive Study Routine and Use of Online Course
The preparation for the exam began about two years before the test.
Initially, Rafael considered pursuing a degree in medicine at the State University of Roraima (UERR).
Later, he opted to focus solely on preparing for exams.
He reports maintaining a daily routine of approximately eight hours of study for one year and two months, primarily using an online preparatory course.
According to the candidate, the organization of this routine was crucial for his performance. “I did revisions, practiced questions, readings… I had everything organized,” he stated.
The young man claims to have thoroughly read the notice multiple times and reinforced his study of the dry legislation, including the internal regulations of the TJRR, which were required by the organizing committee.
TJRR Test and Evaluation Criteria

The notice provides for an objective test and a dissertation essay for the judicial technician position.
Among the themes evaluated are Portuguese language, legislation, and specific knowledge of the Judiciary.
Rafael structured his schedule based on these topics, alternating periods of resolving questions, reading legislation, and practicing essay writing according to the guidelines provided by the organizing committee.
The final scores confirm his performance. He obtained 65 points on the objective test and 19.8 points on the essay, a score close to the maximum.
Impact of Approval and Future Expectations
After the announcement of the results, Rafael’s family expressed surprise at his ranking.
According to the young man, his parents and brother received the news with enthusiasm and high hopes regarding the change in family income.
The starting salary for the position, at R$ 5,824.58, represents a significant increase compared to what he was earning in construction.
Experts in public careers explain that exams for courts tend to attract candidates because of the stability and the opportunities for progression outlined in the career plans.
Appointment and Next Steps at TJRR
The TJRR notice does not specify an exact date for the appointments of those approved.
According to the document, appointments will occur “according to the convenience and opportunity” of the court.
The final approved list will also include a reserve registration, which may be used during the validity period of the exam.
Rafael believes that the result represents a significant change in his professional trajectory.
He states that he intends to continue his studies, both to perform the functions of the position and, in the future, to compete in new exams.
Repercussion Among Exam Takers and Impact of the Story
Rafael’s story has begun to circulate in portals and social media.
Teachers and specialists in exam preparation claim that similar journeys tend to inspire candidates who study remotely or who do not have access to major centers.
According to these professionals, organization, ongoing review of the notice, and regular practice with questions are strategies associated with good results.
With the expectation of his appointment, Rafael awaits the continuation of the internal procedures of the court.
His story is likely to continue resonating with candidates balancing work, study, and family life.
In this scenario, how can stories like his influence other young people who wish to enter public service?
