These references suggest that the system can recognize if the device is open or closed.

They also indicate the possibility of measuring the exact angle of the hinge during use.

Another command found, called “MGGetLogicalDeviceDisplayCount”, suggests that iOS can identify how many screens are active on the device.

Apple’s internal maintenance tools also reinforced the rumors about the new hardware.
