For those looking to improve their foreign languages, there are two options within the E-TEC Languages Without Borders program: English – Module I and Spanish – Module I.
Both are offered in the distance learning (EAD) modality and feature 200 hours of content, allowing for a deeper understanding of language foundations and everyday communication.
These courses are aimed at high school, technical, undergraduate, and graduate students, as well as public servants and other interested individuals.
In all cases, it is necessary to be 16 years old or older, have basic computer skills, and ongoing access to the internet and a computer.
Who Can Participate
The Intermediate Libras Course is restricted to education professionals working in Cotia, while the others are open to anyone who meets the minimum requirements.
The goal is to ensure that both public servants and the general community have opportunities for complementary training and certification recognized by IFSP.
The institution emphasizes that the language courses aim to democratize access to language learning, especially for those looking to enhance their resumes or expand professional opportunities at no cost.
The Libras courses contribute to social and communicational inclusion in public and educational environments.
Selection Process and Classification Criteria
Enrollment is open until October 22, 2025, and the entire process must be conducted exclusively online.
Interested candidates must fill out the electronic form and attach the required documentation, such as ID, CPF, and proofs that attest to the prerequisites, when applicable.
The selection will be made in the order of enrollment, respecting the limit of spots for each course.

The final classification of participants will be published on the official website of the IFSP – Cotia Campus by October 24, 2025, with all instructions on enrollment and the start of activities.
Certification and Course Duration
The English and Spanish courses, both with 200 hours of workload, are expected to be completed in about six months, depending on the student’s pace of study.
The Libras courses have shorter durations, varying from 20 to 32 hours, and are aimed at introducing and improving communication in sign language.
At the end of each course, the student who fulfills the proposed activities and achieves satisfactory performance will receive a completion certificate issued by IFSP, a document valid throughout the country.
Free and Accessible Education
This initiative reinforces IFSP’s commitment to promoting free and inclusive public education, focusing on languages and communication.
The training offers flexibility for those looking to study from home and expand opportunities in the job market.
In addition to serving students, the courses also welcome professionals who wish to update themselves or begin learning a new language at no cost.
For the institution, the proposal brings federal education closer to local demands and contributes to citizenship training and valuing public education.
