The program is part of the “Learn More” platform, a virtual learning environment created by the Federal Government to expand access to knowledge in various areas — from languages to topics such as health, philosophy, history, and tourism.
The courses offered are self-instructional, meaning students study at their own pace, accessing content at any time of the day or night.
Platform Already Has More Than 600 Thousand Students
Launched in 2021, the Learn More platform was created in partnership with the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific, and Technological Education, aimed at providing ongoing training and quality education for all Brazilians.
According to data from the MEC itself, more than 600,000 students have accessed the Learn More courses since its launch.
The proposal gained even more relevance after the pandemic, when remote learning became a viable and efficient alternative.
The courses are offered by federal education institutes, with content produced by specialists and professors from their respective fields.
This ensures the quality and reliability of the information provided.
Why Is Learning A New Language So Important?
Mastering a second language can open doors in the job market, facilitate international travel, expand access to information, and enrich cultural repertoire.
Moreover, studies show that learning a new language stimulates the brain, improves memory, and enhances concentration capacity.
In Brazil, proficiency in English is still low: according to the English Proficiency Index by EF Education First (2024 edition), the country ranks 58th in the world ranking, behind neighbors such as Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay.
Public initiatives like this one from the MEC help to reverse this scenario by providing quality and free education for all.
Spanish, in turn, also gains relevance in the South American context, as it is officially spoken in almost all countries on the continent.
Learning Spanish broadens communication possibilities during travel and exchanges, in addition to being a competitive edge on a resume.
Other Courses Available On Learn More
In addition to languages, Learn More offers over 200 courses in different areas of knowledge.
The modules are organized by topics such as:
- Human Sciences: history, philosophy, sociology;
- Health: first aid, mental health, disease prevention;
- Tourism and Hospitality: customer service, hospitality, reception;
- Information Technology: introduction to programming, networks, computational logic;
- Education: active methodologies, inclusion, school management.
The diversity of available topics makes the platform a true hub of continuous education, accessible to all age groups and educational levels.
