On the next 26th, ArcelorMittal announced that it will restart the blast furnace at the Tubarão plant. According to the world’s largest steel producer, the furnace, with an annual capacity to produce 1.2 million tons of pig iron, has not been in operation since last year, when it underwent major maintenance and revisions, “due to national and international economic instability, it remained stagnant.”
