EFOMM Applications Are Open, Become a Merchant Navy Officer

If You Wish to Be a Merchant Marine Officer, 180 Positions Are Available Between Belém and Rio de Janeiro, Applications Can Be Made Until June 16, 2019

With projections of increased activity in the Merchant Marine in the coming years, mainly due to incentives for cabotage and exports/imports, the Navy has decided to train another large group of officers to meet this market through EFOMM.

With an offer of 100 positions for the EFOMM at the Almirante Graça Aranha Instruction Center (CIAGA) in Rio de Janeiro – RJ and 80 positions for the Almirante Braz de Aguiar Instruction Center (CIABA) in Belém – PA. The application fee is R$ 68.00 and runs until June 16, with exams taking place on August 17 and 18.

At EFOMM, Officers are trained in two course options: Nautical and Machinery. In both the nautical and machinery courses, students study at the School in a boarding regimen for 3 years. The course will have two periods and will be developed over eight semesters, namely:

  • Academic Period: consisting of six teaching semesters in a boarding regimen, with exclusive dedication from the student, and structured in an annual serial system, divided into two semesters; and
  • Internship Period: comprising two semesters aboard for the Nautical course and one semester aboard for the Machinery course, fulfilling supervised internship.
