The January 2026 Payment Starts on January 19 and Follows the Final NIS Until January 30, With Values Starting at R$ 600 and Additional Amounts per Family Composition, Along With Income Rules and Updates in CadÚnico.

Bolsa Família Calendar in January 2026 by Final NIS

The Bolsa Família payment for January 2026 begins next Monday, January 19, according to the annual calendar set by the Ministry of Social Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fighting Hunger (MDS).

The release follows the schedule by the final digit of the NIS (National Identification Number) and goes until January 30.

According to the rules released by the MDS, payments occur in the last ten working days of each month, except for December, when the schedule is anticipated.

The payment operation is carried out by Caixa Econômica Federal, in its capacity as the program’s operating agent.

Payment Dates of Bolsa Família in January: NIS Final 1 to 0

In January, the calendar starts with NIS final 1 on January 19.

Next, beneficiaries with NIS final 2 receive on January 20 and final 3 on January 21.

The deposit for NIS final 4 is scheduled for January 22, and for final 5, on January 23.

The following week, payments continue with final 6 on January 26 and final 7 on January 27.

Then, the schedule provides for NIS final 8 on January 28 and final 9 on January 29.

The last day of the calendar, January 30, is reserved for NIS final 0.

In municipalities with federal recognition of emergency or public calamity situations, the MDS informs that payment may be unified on the first day of the calendar, regardless of the final NIS.

How to Check the NIS and Withdraw the Benefit in Caixa Tem

The ministry’s guidance is for the family to check the last digit of the NIS, printed on the program’s card, to locate the corresponding day in the official calendar.

The MDS itself states that the schedule follows the logic of releasing final 1 first, then final 2, and so on, up to digit 0.

Funds can be accessed via Caixa Tem, used with the card for purchases in debit function or withdrawn at self-service terminals, lotteries and Caixa Aqui correspondents.

In the MDS announcement, withdrawals are described as being made without fees.

The ministry’s technical report also points out a time limit for accessing funds: monthly installments are available for up to 180 days from the date indicated in the calendar; after this period, the amounts are returned to the Union.

For questions and guidance, the same document mentions official service channels, such as Social Dial 121 and the service CAIXA to Citizen 111.

Bolsa Família Value: Minimum of R$ 600 and Additional Payments per Family

The MDS informs that the minimum amount transferred by Bolsa Família is R$ 600 per household, with the possibility of additional payments based on family composition.

When announcing the 2026 calendar, the ministry stated that “the payment maintains the model already adopted by the program, ensuring organization, security, and regular access to the benefit for families in situations of social vulnerability throughout the country,” in a statement attributed to the Secretary of Citizenship Income, Eliane Aquino.

The official government service rules detail that the program’s basket includes the Citizenship Income Benefit, of R$ 142 per member, and the Complementary Benefit, paid when the sum of the benefits does not reach R$ 600, filling the gap.

Additionally, there is the Early Childhood Benefit, of R$ 150 per child, aimed at families with children aged 0 to 7 years old.

The Variable Family Benefit, of R$ 50 per member, is intended for families with pregnant women, nursing mothers or children and adolescents aged 7 to 18 years old.

Since the final amount depends on the composition provided in the registration and compliance with the rules, the total received may vary among families.

In this scenario, the government advises to monitor the situation and messages from the program through the official apps and payment statements, which may provide warnings and administrative convocations.

Who Is Entitled to Bolsa Família: Income of Up to R$ 218 and Updated CadÚnico

To enter Bolsa Família, the main rule is the monthly income per person.

The official service informs that, if the per capita income is up to R$ 218, entry into the program may occur, provided that the family is registered in the Cadastro Único and undergoes system analysis.

The same content explains that inclusion is not automatic, as selection considers program criteria and budget limits.

Still, updating information is treated as essential: the MDS states that data should be reviewed whenever there is a change in family composition, address, income, or educational situation, with updates at most every 24 months to avoid interruptions.

In the benefit maintenance phase, the ministry also links continuity to compliance with conditionalities, such as school attendance of children and adolescents and health monitoring of pregnant women, children, and nursing mothers, following SUS guidelines.
