The Unified National Competition is getting closer to becoming a reality. The official regulations have been published and brought crucial details about this initiative that promises to impact the lives of thousands of Brazilians. With an offer of 6,640 vacancies spread across various areas, the CNU is an initiative from the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) to create a model similar to the National High School Exam (Enem).
Vacancies in Various Thematic Blocks
The vacancies for the Unified National Competition are divided into eight areas, covering a wide spectrum of fields of activity. They are: Public Administration and Finance; Agriculture, Environment and Agrarian Development; Data, Technology and Public Information; Education, Science, Technology and Innovation; Intermediate Level; Social Policies, Justice and Health; Economic Sectors, Infrastructure and Regulation; and Labor and Social Security.

Timeline and Expectations for the Unified National Competition
The timeline set by the government is ambitious. Some of the key milestones include: Establishment of the competition committee by October 30. Then, hiring the organizing body by November 22. Finally, publication of the notice by December 20, 2023.
Expectations are high, with the Ministry of Management and Innovation expecting up to 4 million applicants. The goal is to create a model that will be a reference, just like the Enem, whose scores are recognized by educational institutions across the country.
The Unified National Competition promises to cover the entire national territory, with simultaneous tests in 180 cities. The distribution by region will be: 50 in the Northeast; 49 in the Southeast; 39 in the North; 23 in the South; and 18 in the Central-West.
Candidates will undergo two phases of evaluation. The first consisting of an objective test and, for some positions, a written test, scheduled for March 2024, and the second phase will involve a title analysis.
