China is building 5 cascade dams for $167 billion in Tibet — and the Motuo Project will have 70 GW of capacity, three times more than the world’s current largest power plant.
The wind park will have an installed capacity of 34.8 MW, with six wind turbines of 5.8 MW each. The expectation is to generate 850 jobs, with 490 direct and 360 indirect, during the implementation and operation phase of the park.
Other Investments and Social Contrapartidas in Bahia
In addition to this wind park project, FDNE also finances other units of the Assuruá Complex, owned by Ômega Energia, totaling R$ 716 million. The company has presented economic, social, and environmental contrapartidas, including projects to benefit rural communities and ecological sewage treatment systems.
The investment from Sudene in the wind park project in Bahia represents a significant boost for the regional development and the transition to renewable energy sources. In addition to promoting clean energy generation, the project will also contribute to job creation and the sustainable development of local communities.
