Wind Energy Project in Bahia Receives Million-Dollar Investment from Sudene to Boost Regional Development
The Superintendence for the Development of the Northeast (Sudene) approved financing of R$ 83.8 million for the implementation project of a wind power generation park in Bahia. This investment is part of the Northeast Development Fund (FDNE) and aims to boost regional development through renewable energy.
Sudene approved financing of R$ 83.8 million for the company Assuruá 5 VI Energia S.A., as part of the implementation project of a wind power park in Bahia. The Northeast Development Fund (FDNE) will provide a total contribution of R$ 122.7 million, while the total investment required to make the wind park feasible is estimated at R$ 207.6 million.

Superintendent Danilo Cabral highlights FDNE as an important instrument for regional development in Bahia, with projected investments of R$ 1 billion for this year. The Fund is aimed at investments in infrastructure, public services, and productive enterprises with the potential to generate new businesses and productive activities.

The wind park will have an installed capacity of 34.8 MW, with six wind turbines of 5.8 MW each. The expectation is to generate 850 jobs, with 490 direct and 360 indirect, during the implementation and operation phase of the park.
Other Investments and Social Contrapartidas in Bahia
In addition to this wind park project, FDNE also finances other units of the Assuruá Complex, owned by Ômega Energia, totaling R$ 716 million. The company has presented economic, social, and environmental contrapartidas, including projects to benefit rural communities and ecological sewage treatment systems.
The investment from Sudene in the wind park project in Bahia represents a significant boost for the regional development and the transition to renewable energy sources. In addition to promoting clean energy generation, the project will also contribute to job creation and the sustainable development of local communities.
