The Ministry of Development and Social Assistance (MDS) revealed that Bolsa Família payments will be advanced in April, in some cities.

Today, the Bolsa Família benefits approximately 20.9 million families across Brazil. Next month, the ministry revealed that the payment schedule will be advanced in some municipalities.

This advance generally occurs due to cities that are in a state of public calamity.

As mentioned, this advance generally happens because cities face calamity situations, such as heavy rains or prolonged droughts.

When this advance occurs, it is possible to withdraw without the benefit card in the eligible cities. In total, there are 108 municipalities with scheduled advances. These cities are located in the following states:

  • 39 in Bahia;
  • 32 in Rio Grande do Sul;
  • 19 in Acre;
  • 9 in Rio de Janeiro;
  • 9 in Roraima.

According to the ministry, in these cities where the advance will take place, the registration update deadline will also be extended.

Additional Benefits in April

In the fourth month of this year, in addition to the Bolsa Família amount, beneficiaries will also have access to other benefits, such as:

Citizen Income Benefit (BRC)

This is considered a pillar of the program and represents a per capita amount of R$ 142 for each family member. This amount is provided with a focus on meeting basic needs for food, health, and education.

Complementary Benefit (BCO)

The BCO represents a financial increase granted to families where benefits do not reach R$ 600. Thus, the BCO serves to ensure a minimum amount of R$ 600 per family, providing a more stable and adequate income.

Early Childhood Benefit (BPI)

On the other hand, the BPI consists of an additional R$ 150 per child aged zero to seven years incomplete. According to the information, this benefit aims to invest in the development of children during this crucial phase, providing better health and education conditions.

Who Can Receive Bolsa Família

The question of who can receive Bolsa Família weighs heavily on many people’s minds. Currently, according to the federal government, the main rule is: the family must have a monthly income that does not exceed R$ 218 per person.

Furthermore, to meet the requirements and thus be eligible for the benefit, the interested party’s family must be registered in the Cadastro Único for Federal Government Social Programs (CadÚnico).

What Is the Benefit Amount

Since last year, Bolsa Família transfers at least R$ 600 per family. In addition, there is also an additional R$ 150 for each child up to six years of age.

Moreover, there is an additional R$ 50 for each member aged seven to 18 years incomplete and for pregnant women who are, of course, registered in the family.

Finally, to further enhance the benefit, at the end of last year, the federal government created the Variable Family Nutritional Benefit. With a value of R$ 50, it is intended for families with babies up to six months old.

How Do I Withdraw Bolsa Família

Currently, Bolsa Família deposits are made through the Caixa Tem app, meaning there is no need to go to a branch to make the withdrawal.

However, it is also possible to use the benefit card, which allows the beneficiary to use it for purchases or withdrawals at ATMs, lottery houses, and CAIXA branches.
