Grupo Boticário Is Investing R$ 200 Million in Expanding Its Factory in São José dos Pinhais (PR), Promising to Generate Hundreds of Job Opportunities and Income for the Community.
The Grupo Boticário announced on the 22nd an investment to expand the production of its factory in PR, known as Polo da Beleza Paranaense. Celebrating 40 years since the opening of its first factory in São José dos Pinhais, Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (PR), the amount invested by the group will be R$ 200 million and, with this figure, up to 25% of production capacity is expected to increase in its industrial center, which has 830 local suppliers directly involved in the beauty and cosmetics production chain. The estimate is that the investment will create over 500 new job opportunities in the next two years.

The company has invested, so far, R$ 700 million in the construction of Polo da Beleza, which is located on a 150,000 square meter plot in the municipality of São José dos Pinhais (PR), with 72,000 square meters of built area. The unit concentrates the production of care items such as creams and moisturizers, perfumery items, cosmetics, and gift kits.
Just last year, Boticário’s plant in PR was responsible for producing 160 million pieces. The Polo da Beleza creates job opportunities for 6,000 people, including those from partner companies and also Boticário workers. According to Sérgio Sampaio, Vice President of Operations at Grupo Boticário, the company’s commitment to the municipality in PR is long-standing.

According to Sampaio, the company’s new investments further encourage the expansion and advancement of this ecosystem, increasing opportunities for residents of the municipality, generating 500 job opportunities.
It is worth noting that in addition to the factory in São José dos Pinhais, the group also began, last year, the operation of a Distribution Center that has more than 20,000 square meters in Campina Grande do Sul. The complex brings together the distribution activities of e-commerce and the company’s brands.
In the coming semester, the unit will also start operations for stores, multi-brand retailers, franchises, and direct sales across the Southern region. The establishment of the distribution center and the concentration of the group’s e-commerce operations in the state fall within the Paraná Competitivo tax incentive program. About R$80 million has been invested by the company over the past 2 years.
