Overall, In Addition to Biofuels, Six Events Were Canceled, Including the New A-4 Energy Auction in 2020
The Brazilian Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) announced on Friday that it has rescheduled for April 15 the previously suspended second phase of the 72nd biodiesel auction. The agency suspended the bidding as a result of the economic impact of the international public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new date was set after a meeting between the ANP, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and the country’s producers and distributors, in which they decided what the minimum percentage for the production and distribution of biofuels would be. Last week, the government announced that it had indefinitely postponed the planned energy and transmission auctions for 2020. Overall, six events were canceled, including the new A-4 energy auction, which recorded 51,438 MW of hydroelectric, wind, solar, and biomass projects ready to compete.
