Agronorte Announces Investment in Building New Feed Factory in Alvorada, After Change of Plans, and Expands Production in Tocantinópolis.
Agronorte, one of the largest agribusiness companies in Northern Brazil, announced a change in its expansion plans. The feed factory, which was to be built in Gurupi, Tocantins, will now be erected in Alvorada, in the same region. This change occurred due to a decision by the Gurupi city hall, which reduced the area of land that was to be donated to the company. With the change, Agronorte plans to invest R$ 15 million to expand its existing unit in Tocantinópolis, which already operates in the state. This decision reflects Agronorte’s commitment to ensuring its capacity to meet the growing demand for feed.
City Hall Decision and New Location for Construction
The construction of the factory in Gurupi, initially budgeted at R$ 70 million, was announced in May, along with investments of R$ 55 million in two storage units.
However, the reduction in available land led Agronorte to seek a new location for the construction. Vinícius Carvalho, the company’s director, explained that the minimum requirement was 60,000 square meters, but the city hall offered only 40,000.

New J.Macêdo factory receives an investment of R$ 300 million, expands pasta production in the Northeast, creates jobs, and boosts the economy in Ceará.
In Alvorada, the company will have access to a 100,000 square meter plot, which will provide better conditions for building the new feed factory.
The move to Alvorada will also allow Agronorte to have a larger space for its operations.
The planned feed factory will have the necessary infrastructure to meet the growing market demand for animal nutrition products.
With this new space, Agronorte will be able to expand its production and diversify the options of feed it offers to its customers.
Increase in Agronorte’s Production in Tocantinópolis
The delay in constructing the new factory in Alvorada will cause Agronorte to expand production at Tocantinópolis.
The production capacity of the unit will be increased from 12,000 to 24,000 tons per month.
This expansion is a direct response to the growing demand for feed in the market, which has been increasing between 20% and 25% per year.
Carvalho emphasized that Agronorte’s current operations are no longer sufficient to meet orders, making the expansion of production in Tocantinópolis a priority.
Agronorte is known for its ability to adapt to market needs, and this expansion is a reflection of that commitment.
With the increase in production in Tocantinópolis, the company will be able to meet the growing demand and ensure that its customers receive the necessary feed for their animals’ nutrition.
The focus on producing quality feed is fundamental for Agronorte, which always seeks to offer the best to its customers.
Future Expectations of Agronorte and Market Needs
The new unit in Alvorada is expected to take three to four years to be completed, with a production capacity of 15,000 tons per month.
The factory will produce feed for different types of animals, including fish, dogs, beef and dairy cattle, poultry, pigs, and horses.
This diversity of products reflects Agronorte’s strategy to serve different market segments.
Carvalho also emphasized that the Northern region of Brazil has few companies dedicated to feed production, despite the growth of livestock activity.
The demand for animal nutrition is high, and Agronorte is well positioned to meet this expanding market.
With the construction of the new feed factory in Alvorada and the expansion of the Tocantinópolis unit, the company is preparing to face market challenges.
Furthermore, with the increase in animal production and the growing demand for raw materials like soy and corn, Agronorte is investing in improvements to its storage infrastructure.
The company is expanding its infrastructure in Açailândia (MA) and building a new silo in Bom Jesus (TO). These improvements are essential to ensure the efficiency of operations and the availability of the raw materials needed for feed production.
