On Monday (10), Elon Musk, the billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX, turned Apple into his new target. In a blunt post on his profile on the social network X, Musk stated that he will remove all Apple devices from his companies if the tech giant integrates OpenAI’s artificial intelligence (AI) into its systems. This announcement came after Apple revealed the partnership during its annual event, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), according to Forbes.
Elon Musk and Apple: A New Tech Dispute
“If Apple integrates OpenAI into its systems, all devices of that brand will be banned from my companies. This is a security violation that I will not accept,” Musk declared on his profile on X. Musk’s relationship with OpenAI is complex: he was one of the co-founders of the company in 2015 and remained there until 2018. Since then, Musk has criticized OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, accusing the company of violating privacy issues.
The tension between Elon Musk and OpenAI is not new. After leaving the company, Musk frequently threw jabs at Altman and criticized the direction OpenAI took. Announcements by Apple at WWDC
