In the early hours of April 30, an unusual accident surprised drivers and emergency crews on Highway 287 in Alvord, Texas. A truck carrying about $800,000 in dime coins lost control, ran off the road, overturned, and scattered millions of coins across the highway.

According to the broadcaster WFAA, the accident occurred around 5:30 AM.
The driver attempted to correct the steering and driving after leaving the road, but ended up overturning the truck and its trailer.

The spill caused the highway to be closed for several hours. Even after partial clearance, crews continued the cleanup work late into the night, according to local news outlets.
Despite the severity of the overturn, the driver and a passenger managed to escape the accident without serious injuries.
Authorities did not disclose further details about the origin or destination of the shipment, but the incident has become one of the most unusual ever recorded in the area.
