The Subject Became a Meme! In Images Circulating on Social Media, a Man Walks Down the Street with a Car Full of Solar Panels on Its Exterior. However, in an Interview, He Laments That the City Where He Lives is Cloudier and Does Not Produce as Expected.
A resident of Srinagar, in Jammu and Kashmir, is gaining popularity on social media after creating a solar-powered car. His surroundings are filled with panels! According to him, his main motivation would be to escape the gas price, which is set to rise exponentially within ten years due to the oil crisis and market shortages. Currently, in the state of Santa Catarina, the price per liter exceeds R$ 8, and in twenty Brazilian states, they charge more than R$ 7 per liter. In India and other Eastern countries, the situation is no different. Using electric motors in old cars is a way to repurpose these vehicles and make them useful even during a fossil supply crisis.
Bilal Ahmed, the creator of this project and a mathematician, stated in an interview that he has been working on the car for over 13 years and has managed to reach the milestone of using an old car, built before the year 2000, to transform it into an electric vehicle that uses only sunlight for its movement on the road. According to him, his goal was to create an update for the vehicle using items to assist people with disabilities, but the high cost led to a change in the direction of his project.
Car with Solar Energy Panels is a Novelty
Electric cars are becoming increasingly common in the market. However, their prices exceed traditional cars, making them unfeasible for a large part of the population. The Tesla is a pioneering brand in the sector. Generally, electric cars are charged only at a socket with limited daily transition capacity. However, with solar panels and plenty of sun during the day, it will be possible for the vehicle owner to cover a greater distance while saving on their electricity bill.

The creator of this vehicle stated in an interview that he has been studying the luxury car industry since the last century and has always been interested in creations and innovations. To do this, he had to rely on his knowledge of mathematics to develop his idea. Ahmed then broke the notion that only the elite could afford luxury cars and showed that old models can also receive updates and be modernized at a low cost.
According to him, in addition to the intention of providing something more affordable, his goal will be to use luxury vehicles that nowadays are not worth much, so that poorer people also have the opportunity to make the world more sustainable. Not to mention that this is a way to reuse materials without the need for new manufacturing. Cars that could be discarded will have the chance to return to the market.
Because of the gloomy climate in the city where he lives, he claims to have approached several companies focused on creating solar panels to learn about their effectiveness. His question was whether they could move the car with minimal production. By using a battery, it is possible to store a large portion of energy and thus leave it in the sun all day to use at night without fuels.
