Quick Sale of Property Near Bill Gates’ Complex
The property linked to Bill Gates is located on 73rd Avenue NE, right next to the billionaire’s expansive waterfront complex in Medina, east of Seattle. The residence was listed at the beginning of the month and quickly found a buyer.
The sales contract was signed just a week after the property was announced on the market. It was not possible to reach Bill Gates, 70, for comment on the transaction.

Property Is Part of the Set of Houses Acquired by Bill Gates
The sold house is part of a group of properties that Bill Gates has acquired over the years near his main residence. The founder of Microsoft’s waterfront complex is known as Xanadu 2.0.
Bill Gates began building Xanadu 2.0 in the 1980s. The main residence spans about 66,000 square feet, approximately 6,132 square meters.
According to Architectural Digest magazine, the billionaire purchased several neighboring properties over the following decade. Among them is the 73rd Avenue house, acquired for US$ 1 million in 1995.
Features of the House Sold in Medina
The sold property is a two-story house built in 1953. According to county records, the residence underwent a renovation in 2001.
The property has private water access and a view of Lake Washington. The listing also highlights the presence of several patios and a spacious deck that extends to the wooded area.
The sale was announced by brokers Kim Florence and Tim Conway of John L. Scott Inc. They did not respond to requests for comment.
Interior of the Residence Includes Three Bedrooms and Lake View
Inside, the house has three bedrooms and a kitchen that opens to a covered terrace. The living room features a fireplace, and the master suite includes a private balcony with a view of the water.
The lower level of the house is technically classified as a basement. However, due to the slope of the land, the back has oversized sliding doors that open directly to the garden.
After his divorce from Melinda Gates in 2021, Bill Gates continued to live in the main property in Medina. In an interview with the Today program last year, he stated that he has no plans to leave the location.
“I admit, my house is gigantic,” he said at the time. “I like the houses I have. My kids enjoy coming back here — that’s a luxury.”
In 2024, Bill Gates also sold another house located on the same 73rd Avenue. The property was negotiated for US$ 4.85 million.
