The government of Ceará ensures that the construction of new solar energy parks should continue, as well as the repair operations for transmission and generation services. The announcement came in response to an inquiry made by the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On April 2, the State Government signed an official letter with the entity committing to ensure that the production chain of the sector continues to operate.
Solar Energy Grows 170% in Ceará Despite the Pandemic and Expects a Positive 2021
The number of units in Ceará generating their own energy through sunlight more than doubled in 2020 compared to 2019, according to the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel). Last year, the state recorded over 10,000 micro and mini solar energy generating units, while in 2019 these units totaled 4,300. The increase was 130.8%.
