Petrópolis Brewery will feature state-of-the-art technology
The new Petrópolis Group Brewery will feature state-of-the-art German technology in its new factory in Uberaba, most of the equipment used will be from Krones, the global leader in the beverage industry, thus the new manufacturing batch will reach 3,3, XNUMX liters in water use for every liter of beer.
Why was the state of Minas chosen for the creation of the new Petrópolis Group Brewery?
The choice of Minas Gerais was due to some factors. One of them is that the State holds 13,8% of beer consumption in Brazil. Another point analyzed is the logistical issues because of the lower cost of freight and taxes.
The product will become more competitive due to lower interstate tax rates. Currently, the beer sold in Minas Gerais is produced by the units in Boituva, in São Paulo; and Petrópolis and Teresópolis, in Rio de Janeiro.
Another factor analyzed is water quality, which is very important for beer production, and Uberaba offered this, in addition to a tax incentive package. One of the assumptions of the Petrópolis group, wherever it has a factory, is to have water collected in artesian wells. “There will be four wells with very deep extraction, that is, about 200 m deep each”, calculates the specialist.
Finally, when completed, the new Petrópolis Group Brewery will be able to produce over 8,6 million hecliliters of beer per year, approximately 860 million liters for each of the beverages produced.
