Chevrolet Halts Production of Onix and Onix Plus at Factory in Brazil Due to Accumulation of 19 Thousand Vehicles.
Due to the significant accumulation of 19 thousand vehicles and problems resulting from heavy rains in Rio Grande do Sul, Chevrolet has decided to temporarily suspend production of the Onix and Onix Plus models in the country. This measure has already been previously adopted by General Motors regarding its compact line in Brazil this year.
As reported by Automotive Business, the resumption of production for the Onix and Onix Plus models is set to begin on May 7. It is important to highlight that both models are exported to various markets from Brazil.

Chevrolet Will Invest R$ 7 Billion in Brazil to Update Entire Onix Line by 2028
Another crucial aspect to mention is the investment announced by Chevrolet of R$ 7 billion in Brazil to update its entire line by 2028. This investment will include the anticipated aesthetic update of the Onix and Onix Plus models.
The models will receive updates to the front and rear, along with improvements in the interiors with higher-quality finishes. They will feature a fully digital instrument panel, which will be visually integrated with the multimedia center. These screens will be the same used in the 2025 Spin model, which was recently updated.
Additionally, there are speculations that the 1.0 three-cylinder turbo engine will receive direct injection, providing more power and efficiency. Currently, this is the only three-cylinder 1.0 turbo engine with indirect injection available in Brazil by Chevrolet. An update of the six-speed automatic transmission is also anticipated.
