China is willing to work with Brazil to strengthen international cooperation and protect fair trade amid tensions with the United States. The statement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun during a press conference on Monday (28) in Beijing.
The statement comes in response to the Trump administration’s threat to impose tariffs of 50% on Brazilian products starting August 1. According to Jiakun, China is willing to work with Brazil and other Brics countries to defend the multilateral trading system centered on the WTO and ensure greater balance in global relations.
