The new hybrid SUV from Zeekr combines three motors, ultra-fast charging, and up to 1,416 km of range, and already has expansion plans for external markets.
Zeekr officially launched the 8X in China with figures that place it among the strongest hybrid SUVs on the market: up to 1,380 hp, 900V architecture, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.96 seconds. The model debuts with four versions and an initial promotional price of 329,800 yuan, about R$ 210,000 in direct conversion.
The launch targets the premium segment of plug-in hybrid SUVs and arrives surrounded by expectations because Geely itself wants to accelerate the model’s expansion outside China. According to CarNewsChina, the 8X and its sibling 9X are expected to advance to international markets as early as the third quarter.
Besides the power, the 8X draws attention for its technical package. It uses the 900V Haohan-S hybrid architecture, combined with a 2.0 turbo combustion engine and electric systems with two or three drive units. In the top-of-the-line version, the SUV delivers up to 1,030 kW, equivalent to 1,380 hp.

Four versions and launch discount in China

The Zeekr 8X enters the Chinese market in four configurations. The promotional price range goes from 329,800 yuan to 473,800 yuan, something between R$ 210,000 and R$ 303,000 in direct conversion, considering the exchange rate used in the announcement. The entry-level version, called Max, starts at 329,800 yuan, while the Yao Ying, the most expensive in the line, reaches 473,800 yuan.
Before the commercial debut, the SUV had entered pre-sale for 376,800 yuan. With the launch incentive package, the initial value dropped by 47,000 yuan, a reduction of 6,528 dollars compared to the entry price of the previous phase.
In practice, the strategy places the model in an aggressive range for a large, electrified SUV with a luxury proposition, in a competition that is becoming increasingly strong among Chinese brands.
Supercar power in a family car

The mechanical package is the main attraction. The configuration with three motors, reserved for the most expensive version, is the one that delivers 1,030 kW and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.96 seconds. Meanwhile, the versions with two motors reach 660 kW and complete the same test in 3.7 seconds.
The battery pack also weighs in. The 8X comes with a 70 kWh pack and supports fast charging at 6C. Under ideal conditions, charging from 20% to 80% takes about nine minutes. The electric range in the CLTC cycle reaches 410 km, while the total range can reach 1,416 km, depending on the configuration.
It’s a combination that mixes extreme performance with everyday use, something Zeekr tries to sell as a differentiator for those who want a large SUV without sacrificing power and range.

Large SUV size and focus on rear comfort
With a length of 5.10 meters, a width of 1.998 meters, and a height of 1.78 meters, the 8X falls into the large SUV category. The wheelbase of 3.069 meters reinforces its generous size, although the model is slightly below the 9X, considered the brand’s flagship.
Inside, the focus is on a more sophisticated environment, with multiple screens, a large central display, and entertainment options for rear-seat passengers, depending on the version. The more expensive configurations feature aviation-style seats, electric recline, and extended leg support.
The cargo capacity reaches 2,200 liters with the seats folded, which expands the model’s use for both families and those seeking a large executive SUV.

Onboard technology and roof radar for advanced assistance
Visually, the 8X maintains the brand’s recent language, with a high grille, split headlights, and lidar integrated into the roof. The equipment is part of the advanced driver assistance package, which uses multiple sensor fusion.
The system includes two Nvidia Drive Thor-U processors, with a computing capacity of up to 1,400 TOPS. Depending on the version, the SUV offers features such as highway navigation assistance and automated parking.
With this, Zeekr aims to position the 8X not only as a powerful hybrid but as a heavy technology product within a segment where performance, fast charging, and a sophisticated cabin have become central arguments. Now, the focus is on the international expansion promised by Geely and how the model will perform outside China.
