Construction of Water Treatment Plant ETA 5 Progresses Rapidly in Blumenau and Now Has a Delivery Date: See What’s Ready.
The construction of the new Water Treatment Plant (ETA) 5 in Blumenau has reached 52% completion, with an expected finish date in October 2025, according to information from the Municipal Autonomous Service of Water and Sewage (Samae).
The structure, being built on Ari Santerri Street in the Salto do Norte neighborhood, promises to significantly improve the supply of treated water for about 150,000 residents in the northern region of the municipality.
What Has Already Been Completed in the Construction of ETA 5?
Initially, the delivery of the unit was scheduled for the first half of 2025.

However, issues with the release of permits and the dismantling of Blumob structures, which still occupied part of the land, caused delays in the schedule.
Despite setbacks, Samae has reported that construction is progressing with multiple work fronts underway.
Several essential components of the Water Treatment Plant’s construction have already been completed.
These include the bases for flocculators, settlers, filters, backwash reservoirs, contact tanks, and the flow regulation system.
The largest tanks of the station have also been installed, and the hydraulic and mechanical interconnections are in progress.
Other structures in advanced stages include the wash water lift station, operational building, panel room, blower building, and chemical product dikes.
Earthworks are at the final stage, while drainage is ongoing.
What Are the Next Steps in the Construction?
The upcoming steps for the ETA 5 project include urbanization, electrical installations, paving, finishing, painting, and the installation of chemical dosing systems and water quality analysis equipment.
The goal is to ensure a modern and efficient water supply system for the neighborhoods of Badenfurt, Salto do Norte, Testo Salto, Itoupavazinha, Itoupava Central, Fortaleza Alta, and Fidélis.
What Is the Status of the Bidding Process for Water Capture and Pumping?
Alongside the construction of the station, the bidding process for the works related to water capture, conduction, and pumping was recently released after a legal impasse between competing companies.
The approval took place on April 28, with the contract signed on the 30th of the same month with the Consortium ETA V, formed by AGR Engenharia and Enfil S.A..
The value of the winning proposal was R$ 26,032,479.60, and the service order was issued on May 12. Currently, the consortium and Samae technicians are drafting the work plan for the effective start of these complementary stages.
What Is the Impact of the New Station on the City?
With the capacity to treat up to 300 liters of water per second, ETA 5 represents a strategic reinforcement in Blumenau’s water infrastructure.
The increase in treatment and distribution capacity aims to keep pace with population growth and ensure greater security in supply, especially during drought periods.
For Samae, the project symbolizes not only a technical advancement but also a commitment to the quality of life for the residents of Blumenau.
The expectation is that, with the new station in operation, the city will experience fewer interruptions in water supply and increase its efficiency in treating and distributing the resource.
