Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Breaks Record in Nürburgring with Production Version and Surpasses Porsche, Tesla, and Other Established Brands on the German Circuit
The Chinese automaker Xiaomi achieved an unprecedented feat at the Nürburgring circuit in Germany. The electric sedan SU7 Ultra became the fastest production car among the prestigious list of laps on the German track, surpassing names like Porsche, Tesla, and even the Croatian Rimac.
Historical Lap with Production Model
The record was set by a production version of the SU7 Ultra, identical to the one currently sold in China. No prototype, no experimental model.
The car completed the nearly 21 kilometers of the Nordschleife circuit in just 7 minutes and 4 seconds. This performance surpassed rivals like the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT and the Tesla Model S Plaid.

Larger than the Toyota Hilux and with a towing capacity of 3.5 tons, the new MG U9 2026 features a 2.5 turbodiesel engine, 520 Nm, 4×4 traction with three locks, and an almost full-size build.
Before this achievement with the production model, Xiaomi had already tested a prototype of the same SU7 Ultra on the same circuit.
The result at that time was even faster: 6 minutes and 46 seconds. This time put the brand on the radar of traditional giants, such as Porsche itself.
At that time, the Taycan Turbo GT was close to taking the top spot, but now Xiaomi has gained an advantage with a production vehicle.
Extreme Power in the SU7 Ultra
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features three electric motors and delivers a total power of 1,548 horsepower. The top speed exceeds 350 km/h.
These numbers place the model among the fastest electric sedans in the world, reinforcing Xiaomi’s strategy to compete with already established automakers.
Rivalry Between Valuable Seconds
The battle for the fastest title is decided by seconds. In the case of the SU7 Ultra, it was a few seconds of advantage that secured leadership over established brands like Porsche and Tesla. An intense competition where every fraction of a second makes a difference.
Even with the achievement on European soil, Xiaomi still faces doubts within its own country. There are concerns about the quality and reliability of vehicles sold in China.
The record in Nürburgring attracts international attention, but it does not resolve all the brand’s obstacles off the track.
