Sustainable Car Program Combines IPI Exemption and Discounts from Manufacturers, Reduces Prices by up to R$ 12 Thousand and Heats Up the 1.0 Car Market
The program Sustainable Car, launched by the federal government in July, is already changing the landscape of the national automotive market. The initiative has reduced prices on various models, increased sales of entry-level vehicles by 13%, and brought incentives for cars equipped with a 1.0 engine.
The most significant benefit is the total IPI exemption for models that meet environmental, technical, and production criteria. In some cases, the reduction in the final price reaches almost R$ 12 thousand.
The exemption corresponds to 5.27% of the vehicle’s price. Although this percentage may seem small, some manufacturers have enhanced the advantage with their own discounts.

Furthermore, the combination of government incentives and actions from manufacturers has increased the variety of offers in the market.
The Sustainable Car program also promotes the production of more efficient and less polluting vehicles.
Therefore, the inclusion criteria prioritize economical engines and technologies that reduce environmental impacts.
For consumers, the advantage is paying less for a car that meets economic and sustainability requirements.
In the end, the combination of tax incentives and aggressive promotions proves effective in boosting sales and renewing the Brazilian fleet with affordable and equipped options.
