Chesf, São Francisco Hydroelectric Company, Inaugurated Last Friday, October 2, a New Stretch of Transmission Line in Ceará
Chesf invested about 24 million reais and put into commercial operation last Friday, October 2, a new transmission stretch in Ceará, with the expansion of the Aquiraz II substation, a new double-circuit transmission line. The investment was in the new part of the LT and the expansion will increase the energy transport capacity of the state of Ceará.

The new transmission lines extend 20 kilometers and result from the segmentation of the 230 kV Banabuiú / Fortaleza 04F2 LT and the establishment of a new connection with the Aquiraz II substation. According to Roberto Pordeus, Director of Engineering and Construction, the project will increase the energy transmission capacity and make the power supply in Ceará more reliable, extending to the National Interconnected System, which also highlights that the revenue generated by Chesf will be around 5.3 million reais per year.

About Chesf:
The São Francisco Hydroelectric Company (Chesf) is a publicly traded corporation that operates in the generation and transmission of high and extra-high voltage energy, exploring the watershed of the São Francisco River, headquartered in Recife. The largest hydropower plant built by the Chesf system is Xingó, with a capacity of 3,162 MW. In 2018, it began producing energy from solar sources with the implementation of the Solar Photovoltaic Platform in Petrolina, with 2.5 MW, installed at the Solar Energy Reference Center in Petrolina, CRESP. Installed/projected generation capacity is 16,931 MW.
