Ceará Will Receive New Investments for the Construction of a Footwear Industry That Promises to Generate 500 Jobs This Year. The Factory Will Have the Capacity to Produce 10 Thousand Units Per Day
The municipality of Senador Pompeu, located in the state of Ceará, will have investments of R$ 4.5 million for the installation of a new footwear industry by the company Sugar Shoes. The State Development Agency (Adece) has already signed an agreement with the city hall for the construction, which promises to generate several jobs and income for the state.

Sugar Shoes Warehouse Will Produce 10 Thousand Shoes Daily
The estimate is that the investments in the warehouse in Ceará will create around 500 jobs for the footwear industry to operate. Sugar Shoes also claims that the factory will have the capacity to produce 10 thousand pairs of shoes daily. However, the company has not revealed estimates of when the construction will begin or when the footwear industry will be inaugurated.
The responsible party for the initial investments in the construction of the footwear industry is the State Development Agency itself, while the city hall will be responsible for donating the land.

After the completion of the works, which will create several jobs, calculations indicate that the final investment amount will be R$ 15.7 million, totaling the investments made by the state of Ceará, by the private sector, and by the municipality.
Investments Will Increase Ceará’s GDP
The amount invested in the footwear industry, in addition to jobs, will bring an increase of R$ 9.8 million in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Ceará, with an increase of R$ 569 thousand in tax liabilities and R$ 1.2 million in payroll.
These estimates come from Adece’s intelligence department, in conjunction with the Department of Economic Development and Labor (Sedet). The agreement to strengthen investments in Ceará was signed last Saturday (26), through the signing of an agreement between the involved parties.
Present at the signing and ceremony of the document were Camilo Santana, Governor of Ceará, Izolda Cela, Deputy Governor, Expedito Parente, Director of Infrastructure Support and Heritage at Adece, and Murício Pinheiro Jucá, Mayor of the Municipality of Senador Pompeu.

The company Sugar Shoes was founded in 1998 in Rio Grande do Sul, beginning its activities with the production of vulcanized shoes in a rented building. In 2000, the company built its first unit and also started its activities in the city of Senador Pompeu.
Currently, the company provides jobs for 2,000 people and produces about 15,000 pairs of shoes daily, contributing to the generation of opportunities and income in the markets where it operates.
The company also has a sister company, which operates in the flip-flop line, founded in 2010, known as Neorubber. The sister company is located in Capela de Santana, Rio Grande do Sul, and initially produced rubber slabs for women’s shoe soles. In 2011, however, the company focused on manufacturing flip-flops. The company employs 300 employees in RS and 180 in Ceará, producing about 20,000 pairs daily.
