@Jimminecraftguy Surprises with the Creation of an Electric Bicycle That Challenges Speed Limits, Reaching 110 km/h with a Recycled Motor!
Human creativity knows no bounds, and the most recent example of this innovative capacity is the impressive creation of an electric bicycle that reaches the astonishing speed of 110 km/h. Developed by the amateur inventor known as @Jimminecraftguy, the bicycle, nicknamed “The Spin Cycle”, uses a washing machine motor to achieve performance that rivals many traditional motorized vehicles, according to the website Engineering Today.
Transforming a Regular Bicycle into a High-Speed Electric Bicycle
The project by @Jimminecraftguy started with an old bicycle, on which he installed a 1,100-watt motor, originally intended for a washing machine. The motor was positioned in the center of the bicycle frame, ensuring proper balance and maximizing performance. To transmit the motor’s power to the rear wheel, he connected the transmission gear to one of the bicycle’s front chainrings, creating an efficient and functional system.
One of the most notable innovations of the project was the modification of the electric bicycle’s crank, which was adapted to include a freewheel. This alteration allows the motor to operate independently of the pedals, eliminating the need to pedal constantly to keep the bicycle moving. Additionally, @Jimminecraftguy is working on continuous improvements for his creation, such as installing more powerful batteries, which could further increase the efficiency and range of the electric bicycle.

Economy and Performance: A Creative Alternative to Commercial Electric Bicycles
The creation of @Jimminecraftguy is not just a demonstration of technical innovation, but also a cost-effective solution compared to the electric bicycles available on the market. While commercial electric bicycles are sold for prices ranging from R$ 3,000 to R$ 10,000, “The Spin Cycle” stands out not only for its more affordable cost, but also for its superior performance, especially in terms of speed.
According to data from the Technical Notebook on Electric Bicycles, developed by the Brazilian Bicycle Sector Association (Aliança Bike) and the Sustainable Mobility Laboratory (Labmob/UFRJ), the electric bicycle market has experienced significant growth in recent years. Between 2016 and 2019, there was a 34% increase in sales, with over 25,000 units sold in 2019. This growth reflects a global trend towards seeking more sustainable and accessible mobility alternatives, and the creation of @Jimminecraftguy emerges as an interesting alternative within this context.
Perspectives for the Future: Innovation and Sustainable Mobility
The bicycle “The Spin Cycle” created by @Jimminecraftguy is not just an example of how recycling and reusing components can result in significant innovations, but also highlights the potential of electric bicycles as a viable solution to urban mobility challenges. With the increasing demand for vehicles that combine efficiency, sustainability, and affordability, @Jimminecraftguy’s invention may inspire other enthusiasts to explore new pathways for personal mobility.
Moreover, this creation highlights the importance of support and encouragement for innovation, whether on an amateur or professional scale. Projects like “The Spin Cycle” demonstrate that, with creativity and technical knowledge, it is possible to develop solutions that not only meet practical needs, but also challenge the status quo in terms of performance and functionality.
