With the constant growth of grain production in the region of Matopiba states, the SUA Granéis Consortium, which has a terminal in the port complex, intends to use the Port of Suape to export these goods in the coming years.

This Friday (17/06), the SUA Granéis Consortium has great expectations for the Port of Suape, located in the state of Pernambuco. This is because the company intends to use its terminal in the complex to carry out the export of grains produced in the region of the states of Matopiba, formed by Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia, which have a strong presence in the agribusiness branch focused on this type of merchandise.

Suape Port could be an export route for grains produced in the Matopiba region with the new look of SUA Granéis for carrying out operations in the complex

The Port of Suape is one of the most relevant in all of Brazil when it comes to efficiency in exporting goods and, therefore, Consórcio SUA Granéis is now seeking new uses for its part of the site.

This is because during the month of March this year, the port logistics company won the Solid Bulk Terminal at the Port of Suape in an auction held at the Stock Exchange, in São Paulo, and intends to use it to transport production from the states from Matopiba for export.

The region, which encompasses the states of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia, has been marked by an increase in grain productivity and the need for new routes for transporting goods.

According to data from the National Supply Company (Conab), released during this month, the grain harvest in the Northeast is expected to grow by almost 17% in 2022, reaching 28 million tons, meaning a record in the historical series. Thus, the SUA Granéis Consortium verifies an excellent scenario to expand the export of products.

Thus, Manoel Ferreira, director of SUA Granéis, commented on the future of grain exports through Porto and Suape and stressed that the region could grow even more with the use of the port complex to carry out operations over the next few months.

Manoel concluded: “Matopiba is on our radar! Seven of the nine states in the region should boost growth and three of them, Maranhão, Piauí and Bahia, which are part of Matopiba, should harvest something close to 26 million tons, just over 90% of the total”.

Event held by SUA Granéis at the complex discussed the need to use the complex for the export of grains produced in Matopiba

This Friday morning, an event was held by SUA Granéis and other representatives of the agribusiness and port sector, at the Administrative Center of the Suape Industrial Port Complex. The main theme of the meeting was the growth in the production of vegetable bulk in the Matopiba region and the potential for outflow through the Port of Suape, as well as the use of the complex for the export of grains.

In addition, there was also a lecture by the executive director of the Mato Grosso Pro-Logistics Movement, Edeon Vaz Ferreira, who is also a consultant for Aprosoja — Association of Soy and Corn Producers of the State of Mato Grosso.

The event was the basis for the discussion of the new plan for the distribution of grain production in the Matopiba region through the Port of Suape and SUA Granéis was able to expose its project for the terminal in the future.

Now, the company points out that it will continue to seek new ways to use its terminal at the Port of Suape to attract even more contracts and partnerships with grain producers, with a focus on the Matopiba region, over the next few months.
