The venture in PE will be the first factory of the Orion group in the Northeast and construction works should create around 250 direct jobs
Good news and opportunities for Pernambuco! Orion Fabricação de Upholstery, from the Group Umaflex, will set up a factory in the interior of the state, specifically in the municipality of Escada (PE). It is estimated that around 250 direct jobs will be created with the undertaking, whose work is scheduled to begin next month. The announcement was made by the governor of Pernambuco, Paulo Câmara, this Thursday (24).

With investments of approximately R$ 20 million, the factory will be the group's first unit in the Northeast and will produce high quality mattresses, upholstery and foam. The inauguration of the plant is scheduled to take place in September 2021.
The factory will be built in the Business Center of the municipality of Pernambuco, in an area of six hectares, located on BR-101 South, Km 125. The new unit benefited from the Pernambuco State Industry Stimulus Program (Proind) and will receive deferment of up to 85% of ICMS that can be extended until 2032.
With the construction of the factory in Pernambuco, Orion intends to minimize logistics costs for other divisions in the Northeast, increasing its degree of market share in the State and throughout the region.
Pernambuco considered an industrial hub in the Northeast
According to state management data, between January and September of this year, 52 new private projects were attracted, mainly from industries, to Pernambuco.
The state governor celebrated: “another industry is being installed in Pernambuco”, referring to the implementation of the Orion industrial unit in Escada, with expectations of generating jobs and income in such a difficult time for the world.
“Pernambuco, with its planning, skilled labor and credibility, seeks to attract investment. We have been successful and helped Pernambuco to return to sustainable growth. A growth that the pandemic prevented from being faster, but that now we are catching up ”, completed Câmara.
