According to a report by Abeam, of the 364 offshore maritime support vessels in the country, 326 are Brazilian-flagged and 38 are foreign-flagged.

At the end of August, Bram Offshore reached the mark of 51 maritime support vessels, followed by the CBO company, with 31 ships, and by Starnav, also with 31 units. A Bram Offshore Transportes Marítimos is a company of the Edison Chouest Offshore Group specialized in maritime transport to support the oil and gas industry in Brazil.

Data from Abeam (Brazilian Association of Maritime Support Companies) indicate that 90% of the fleet in Brazil includes national vessels. Of the total 364 maritime support ships in the country, 326 are under the Brazilian flag and 38 under the foreign flag.

According to the association's report, 48% of these vessels are PSVs and OSRVs, totaling 174 vessels, while 19% are LH and SVs, which corresponds to 69 units. AHTS totaled 45 boats in August, while 24 support vessels were FSVs and crew boats, followed by 17 PLSVs and 13 RSVs.

Abeam, entity whose main purpose is to contribute to the Brazilian development of the maritime support sector and to the production and exploration of oil and minerals on the Brazilian continental shelf, clarifies that not all vessels of the Brazilian fleet are in operation, with about 70 units that await hiring.

Companies associated with Abeam recorded revenue of approximately US$ 2,7 billion in 2018 related to charter fees with Petrobras and other operators, according to Portos e Navios magazine.
