Environmental licensing

At the opening ceremony of Rio Oil & Gas, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Adolfo Sachsida, highlighted that what they want is more responsibility in environmental licensing. For him, it is essential that the response be faster and more immediate. โ€œI refer to the Equatorial Margin. We have an opportunity as long as we are socially and environmentally responsibleโ€, added Sachsida.

Petrobras wants to sell more refineries

โ€œPetrobras sold some refineries and Petrobras' concentration went from 98% to 89% in the sector. Petrobras will do everything to sell the other refineries agreed with Cade. Our line is more competitionโ€, he said.

Brazil's oil production will help surpass world's highest GDPs in 2022

Sachsida guaranteed that the GDP in Brazil this year will be greater than that of the USA, Germany and Chinaz. And that inflation in Brazil this year will be lower than in the US, England and Germany. For him, Brazil is currently the great investment port.

The focus is on the pre-salt

The president of Petrobras, Caio Paes de Andrade, said at the opening of the fair that Petrobras' focus is on the pre-salt layer, as this is the most valuable asset and one of the largest provinces in the world.
โ€œBut remembering that we are developing new areas such as the equatorial margin. And we are always focused on the environment and reducing emissionsโ€ pointed out the president of Petrobras.

ESG Agenda and Decarbonization

According to him, the projects are focused on decarbonization with the reduction of emissions. They plan to invest US$2,8 billion over the next five years in projects to reduce emissions and will create a US$248 million fund to develop low-carbon solutions.

As for Valรฉria Lima, from the downstream area of โ€‹โ€‹the Brazilian Institute of Petroleum (IBP), the energy transition window is very short.
โ€œBuilding a refinery can take five to seven years, and amortization of the price can take up to 30 years,โ€ said Valรฉria, who added:
โ€œIt makes no sense to be self-sufficient. The important thing is to have the right exchanges with the outside world. We had no supply problems in a complex year like this one, with the war in Ukraine and the sale of Petrobras assetsโ€, he concluded.

Construction of new refineries

Rubens Cerqueira Freitas, superintendent of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) defended the construction of a refinery in the Midwest.
โ€œThe demand for S10 diesel is going to increase and this advance occurs in the Midwest. So we need to get the fuel closer to the customer. Without that, we will continue to depend on imports,โ€ he said.
โ€œAs Petrobras sells its assets, there are more agents. It is important to have refining capacity in line with demand. Several countries abroad have 60 to 90 days of stocks,โ€ said Freitas.
