Fostering Civil Construction in Maceió, Engenharq Has Already Received Authorization from Sedet to Begin Construction of the Project That Promises to Generate 900 New Jobs for the Municipality

The construction of the Jardim dos Girassóis Residential, in the Cidade Universitária neighborhood, will create 900 direct and indirect jobs in the project in Maceió, which has already received, from the Municipal Secretariat for Territorial Development and Environmental Affairs (Sedet), environmental authorization to begin construction. A total of 455 residences will be built on the site, according to Sedet.

Construction Work for the Project in Maceió Will Begin in December

The construction work in Maceió, which promises to generate 900 jobs, will begin in December of this year. Last month, Secretary Pedro Vieira formalized the delivery of the authorization to businessman José Hugo Cardoso Ferro, owner of the Engenharq construction company, which will be responsible for the project’s construction.

According to Pedro Vieira, the release of the construction site proves the compliance of the company’s project that will create various job opportunities in Maceió with the parameters established in current environmental legislation.

The residential development will have a total constructed area of 23,000 m² and will be fully paved, with all infrastructure for water, drainage, and sewage. The company responsible for the project states that 900 new job openings will be generated for professionals in various specialties in civil construction. According to José, the company received the environmental licensing from the Municipal Government with great satisfaction and thanks all the secretaries who facilitated the conditions for the creation and preservation of job opportunities in Maceió.

Construction Costs Exceed R$ 1,000 per Square Meter in Alagoas

The National Construction Index (Sinapi) rose to 1.8% in May in the state, which also increased costs in the industry according to data from IBGE.

Costs rose from R$ 1,253 in April to R$ 1,276 in May. Of the total spent in May, approximately R$ 793 was spent on materials and R$ 482 on labor. According to Augusto Oliveira, manager of Sinapi, there were widespread increases in material prices throughout Brazil, especially in Bahia, which reached 4.94%.

Materials also show the highest accumulated index over the past year, at 31.58%. Among the materials, those containing steel as raw material remained strongly influenced, which had already been anticipated in previous months. Regarding labor, there was an increase of 0.58% in the share.
