South African couple bought a red Ford Transit in Scotland, installed solar panels, kitchen, bedroom, shower, and bathroom, and now travels through Europe and Morocco in a tiny house on wheels
Couple transforms Ford Transit van into a self-sufficient tiny house on wheels, with solar panels, kitchen, bedroom, shower, and bathroom, after buying the red vehicle in Scotland and adapting everything to travel through Spain, France, Belgium, Portugal, and Morocco.

Van bought in Scotland became a home
The South Africans Leanne and Dan, known on YouTube as The Buddymoon, showed how a red Ford Transit was converted into a tiny house on wheels made for long trips. The transformation was shared by the vloggers.
The renovation included changes in the kitchen, bedroom, and the van’s interior area. The couple also created space for a shower and bathroom, leaving the vehicle with a complete structure for living on the road.

India asks the population to work from home, avoid international travel, and reduce gold purchases to contain the energy crisis caused by the Strait of Hormuz blockade. The country imports 90% of the oil it consumes and has already increased gasoline prices.
Among the changes made are a 10-liter sink, a new stove, a water pump, and a water heater. The proposal was to set up a functional and compact environment.
Solar energy keeps the van off the grid
The tiny house on wheels stands out for functioning self-sufficiently in energy. On the roof, Dan explained that two 100-watt solar panels were installed, responsible for charging the batteries.
These batteries are stored under the front seats. When fully charged, they can provide power for 230 hours, allowing the couple to stay off the grid during the trip.
The internal structure was also made manually. Leanne described the van as entirely handmade, with wooden countertops, navy blue cabinets, and a gray tone that makes the environment cozy.

Internal height became a strong point of the tiny house on wheels
Another point highlighted by Leanne was the height of the van. At 1.75m, she appears in the video walking inside the vehicle without needing to bend down, which reinforces the feeling of space.
She stated that the height of the van makes the interior seem much more spacious. This detail helps explain why the old Transit received a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and shower area.
The combination of handmade furniture, internal colors, and good height transformed the vehicle into a travel space with a homely appearance. The van was designed for long trips without relying on hotels.
Trip passed through Europe and Morocco
Recent videos show Leanne and Dan with the tiny house on wheels in Spain, France, Belgium, and Portugal. The experience, however, also had difficult moments when the couple was in Morocco.
During their stay in the country, a warning light came on again on the dashboard. This time, the engine made a “shhhhhh” noise, indicating that there was something urgent to be resolved.
The couple said they needed to fix the problem quickly. They reported that they received help from kind Moroccans, who found mechanics and assisted in the repair, although the situation did not occur without tears.

Fans praised the conversion but pointed out a risk
The conversion received praise from the couple’s followers. One fan stated that they did an amazing job and highlighted the feeling of having their own space during the trip, something different from staying in hotels.
Another comment praised the couple and encouraged them to show the world who the best travel vloggers are. The message also wished them to enjoy the journey.
A third follower said that the van looked beautiful, elegant, and well-planned. However, they pointed out a possible risk: the fire extinguisher positioned next to the gas. They also suggested adding a shower holder inside the van.
The case came after another young traveler showed a conversion. The nomad known as @thewandering_blue presented to 1.32 thousand subscribers a cobalt blue van, with raptor-style grills, which immediately attracted him.
