The State University of the Tocantina Region of Maranhão (UEMASUL) announced the opening of applications for the Simplified Selection Process for Available Places in PAES 2025, according to Notice No. 006/2025 – PROGESA/UEMASUL. The opportunities are for free in-person undergraduate courses in the first semester of 2025. The spots will be filled based on ENEM performance from 2018 to 2024.
The selection process offers access to free in-person undergraduate courses, providing quality academic training. The course workloads vary according to the chosen course, consisting of theoretical and practical classes, seminars, assessments, and complementary activities.
Available Spots and Locations
UEMASUL offers 170 spots, distributed among the campuses in Imperatriz, Açailândia, and Estreito. The free undergraduate courses offered are:

Fiocruz offers over 3,000 spots in free online courses with 120 hours of duration, free certification, and registration open until August 2026; the training covers mental health, quality of life, and innovation in the Brazilian penitentiary system.

Federal Institute calls for distance education pedagogical mediators for Data Science, Libras, and Technology courses with a monthly scholarship of R$ 1,100; IFSP selection accepts various degrees and applications are open until May 25 for campuses in São Paulo.

Take a course at Senai: openings for courses such as electromechanics, logistics, and occupational safety are available with 310 free scholarships and fully online registration.

Seduc offers a R$ 600 scholarship to study in free online technical courses with 172 spots distributed between Teresina and three other municipalities.
- Imperatriz Campus: History, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Physics, Language Arts – Portuguese Language and Literature, Language Arts – English Language and Literature;
- Açailândia Campus: Administration, Civil Engineering;
- Estreito Campus: Pedagogy, Accounting Sciences.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on the arithmetic average of the scores obtained in ENEM from 2018 to 2024, provided that the candidate has achieved at least 300 points and a score greater than zero in the writing section. 10% of the spots are reserved for black and indigenous candidates who have completed High School in public schools. If there are still vacancies, refugee candidates may apply.
Requirements for Application
To participate in the selection process, candidates must have completed High School and present an ENEM report (2018-2024) with a minimum average of 300 points and a non-zero score in the writing section. They must not be enrolled in another public higher education institution and must provide personal documentation and proof of payment of the application fee.
Selection Process Timeline
- Application Period: 02/12/2025 to 02/21/2025;
- Application Fee Payment: until 02/22/2025;
- Application Review: 02/24/2025 to 02/26/2025;
- Release of Preliminary Results: 02/27/2025;
- Appeals Period: 02/28/2025;
- Release of Final Results: 03/07/2025;
- Enrollment: 03/10/2025 to 03/14/2025.
Applications for Free Courses
Those interested must apply in person at the campuses of Imperatriz, Açailândia, or Estreito, from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 3 PM to 6 PM, according to the instructions in the notice. The application fee is R$ 50.00, and payment must be made by bank deposit. All courses offered are free and grant a diploma valid throughout the national territory.
