Opportunities for Technical Training in Strategic Areas Are Set to Attract Thousands of Candidates by 2025
The Federal Center for Technological Education of Rio de Janeiro (Cefet/RJ) announced in May 2025 the opening of 430 vacancies for free technical courses. Of the total, 390 are for subsequent courses, aimed at those who have already completed high school, and 40 are for the concurrent course, directed at students still attending high school, exclusively at the Angra dos Reis campus, with reserved spots for public school students.
Courses Offered and Distribution of Vacancies
The process covers strategic areas that enhance professional integration. Thus, those who have already completed high school can find opportunities in the following courses:

- Electronics
- Electrotechnics

The training takes place at the Maracanã, Maria da Graça, and Itaguaí campuses, all located in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Application Process and Participation Fee
Applications are open until June 23, 2025, exclusively on the Selecon Institute website, which is responsible for organizing the selection process.
- The application fee is R$ 45.00, and payment confirms participation.
- However, requests for fee exemption must be made by May 26, 2025, according to the notice.
Therefore, it is essential to monitor deadlines and meet the established requirements, as delays or failures in the process may result in the loss of the vacancy.
Exams and Selection Stages
The selection process takes place in a single phase, through an objective test with a pre-defined schedule:
- Subsequent Courses: test on July 6, 2025, with 15 questions in Mathematics and 5 in Portuguese Language. The final result will be available on July 15, 2025.
- Technical Course in Mechanics (Angra dos Reis): test on June 29, 2025, and the final result will be announced on July 7, 2025.
Thus, candidates must prepare in advance and respect all dates in the schedule, as any oversight may compromise participation.
