This initiative entitled “D-Day against Debts” takes place at a time when Brazil is registering a small drop in the number of people in default. According to the data, in February, for example, the country recorded a decrease of 30,5 thousand negative CPFs when compared to the previous month.
In an interview with the newspaper “Valor Econômico”, Pedro Dias Lopes, vice-president of the credit bureau, stated that “the link between the Desenrola Program, the Correios, more than 700 private sector companies and the energy and water concessionaires is the greatest demonstration of strength ever carried out by Serasa to provide financial guidance and facilitate debt negotiation”.
Another person who also spoke about the topic, also to the newspaper already mentioned, was Fabiano Silva, president of Correios. According to him, the fact that Correios is present in all cities in the country means that the institution has a duty to “act so that Brazilian men and women have access to opportunities such as 'Mega Feirão Desenrola e Serasa', thus fulfilling an important social function for the Brazilian people”.
