Delivery between Araras and Rio Claro expands the capacity of SP-191, connects two significant corridors in the interior of São Paulo, received R$ 169 million in investments, generated more than 300 jobs, and will still have a new stage of resurfacing on the old section of the highway.
R$ 169 million were invested in the duplication of 17.5 kilometers of the Wilson Finardi Highway (SP-191), delivered by the Government of SP this Tuesday (2), between Araras and Rio Claro, to enhance safety and flow in the interior of São Paulo.
Duplication strengthens strategic connection
The work carried out by Arteris Intervias modernizes the section between km 52 and 70 of SP-191. The highway connects the Anhanguera (SP-330) and Washington Luís (SP-310) roads, corridors for goods and production flow.
The delivery includes duplicated lanes, a new grade-separated return at km 57, concrete bridges, paving, definitive signage, and safety devices. A gallery was built at km 53, in the Ribeirão das Furnas region.

Safety, logistics, and new stage
Governor Tarcísio de Freitas stated that the duplication was an old request and had logistical importance by connecting two road axes of the state. For him, it made no sense to maintain the connection on a single lane.
The interventions began in August 2024 and generated more than 300 direct and indirect jobs. The section already operates with definitive signage and completed safety devices.
The state secretary of Partnerships in Investments, Rafael Benini, highlighted that the duplication increases safety and agility for those accessing SP-191 and favors mobility between interior cities.
In addition to the new lane, the concessionaire started resurfacing the old section, with an additional investment of R$ 48 million. The work is part of the SP pra Toda Obra program, which foresees improvements in 62 thousand kilometers and R$ 145 billion in investments.
