Photon Develops A Conversion Kit That Can Turn Any Regular Bicycle Into An Electric One. The Company’s Focus Is On Mountain Bikes, Offering A 750 W Electric Motor.
Converters and conversion kits that turn any regular bicycle into an electric bicycle with little difficulty are gaining traction in the foreign market. However, some companies are already officially selling this type of kit in Brazil. The equipment with an electric motor is a solution for cyclists looking to enjoy the benefits of electric bicycles while spending less, without having to replace their current bike. The latest novelty is the Photon, from the Chinese CYC.
Kit That Converts Bicycle Into Electric Has A Battery Of Up To 52 V
One of the main details of the kit is its weight of only 3.2 kg, slightly below competitors. The great differentiator, however, is the power. While other models do not deliver good performance in this regard, the Photon features a 750 W electric motor, in addition to a display that can be installed on the bike and a app that allows adjustments via smartphone. Furthermore, the model is quite compact.
The difference with this kit is that installation is not as simple as with its rivals. The battery, which can be either 36 V or 52 V, also does not come with the product. Essentially, the Photon harnesses the current and replaces the mechanical part of the bicycle.

Chile inaugurates the first electric highway for the trucks that drive its economy, installs high-power chargers over 400 km, and aims to reduce diesel dependency in a logistical shift to Puerto Montt by 2030.
The kit, according to the manufacturing company, is primarily aimed at those who go trail riding, and the promise is to turn two-wheeled vehicles into powerful electric off-road machines. For now, the electric bicycle conversion kit is focused on the American market, which does not yet have regulations as strict as those in Europe for electric two-wheeled models.
Kit That Converts Any Bike Into Electric Costs R$ 4.3 Thousand
The electric motor, produced by CYC itself, will be adjusted in the future to generate less power, so that the product can also be sold in the Old Continent.
Currently, CYC’s Conversion Kit is being sold at a promotional price of US$ 850 on the company’s website, which directly converts to R$ 4.3 thousand. This amount is nearly a thousand less than electric bicycles sold in Brazil.
The bad news is that, for now, the product with an electric motor is not scheduled to officially arrive here. Those who want to take a model home will have to bear the import costs.
Easy-To-Install Conversion Kit
In addition to CYC, a company from the United States called Livall has developed a conversion kit that seeks to leverage the benefits of an electric bicycle without spending too much. The product, which is named PikaBoost, is priced at US$ 299 in its pre-sale, which, in direct conversion, amounts to about R$ 1.6 thousand.
Unlike the equipment presented earlier, this one intends to function as an entry point into the electric bicycle sector, turning any regular bicycle into a motorized one. Just install the conversion kit on the seat post, which is the metal tube that supports the saddle.
The equipment offers a range of up to 30 km per charge, weighing only 3 kg. Being quite compact, it can be easily stored in a backpack when discharged. If the user needs to go up a long hill, just install the conversion kit on the model and pedal as if riding on a flat surface. The charging time for the kit is about 3 hours.
