Vestas has received an order for 52 V236-15.0 MW turbines from the Dutch developer Ecowende, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco. These turbines will be installed at unit 6 of 760 MW at Hollandse Kust (west), and Vestas will provide support for the machines through a 15-year service contract. Vestas’ President for Northern and Central Europe, Nils de Baar, highlighted the importance of the project for Europe’s energy security and the energy transition in the Netherlands.

Ecowende’s CEO, Folkert Visser, expressed confidence in the partnership with Vestas to safely develop and operate the wind farm, meeting energy production targets and implementing ecological measures. The project, with a grid connection capacity of 760 MW and an excess capacity of 20 MW, places a strong emphasis on integrating the wind farm into the local ecology, contributing to the social value of wind energy.
