After the publication of Law 14.300, which establishes the legal framework for microgeneration and distributed minigeneration, several Brazilian companies are already betting on a more active market in the solar energy sector for 2022. With this in mind, companies are already acquiring equipment to meet their customers’ expectations and to ensure that stock remains full of products.

“We are prepared for 150% growth in 2022, thanks to several disruptive products we are adding to our portfolio, such as the QT2D and DS3D microinverters from APsystems, and others,” explained Leandro Martins, president of Ecori Solar Energy, commenting that the expectation is for the national market to multiply its growth compared to 2021.

Roberto Caurim, executive director of Bluesun, believes that the expected growth for the solar energy sector in 2022 also occurs due to a set of factors. In addition to the promulgation of the Legal Framework for GD (distributed generation), Roberto focuses on the price of electricity, which tends to continue rising in 2022.

“The photovoltaic market is expected to grow significantly this year. Bluesun has intensified its purchases and scheduling with internal and external suppliers and aims to sell at least 300 MW this year. It will be an excellent year with much expansion in the photovoltaic market. You can believe it,” said the director.

Among integrators, the expectation is also that the solar energy segment has everything to increase like never before in history. According to recent projections, Brazil is expected to end 2022 with approximately 25 GW of installed solar energy capacity, which would be equivalent to a growth of more than 90% compared to the current numbers in the country, which currently has just over 13 GW.

Geovani Magalhães, executive director of GSE Gruop, the global contractor in commercial real estate, states that he intends to double the company’s revenue in 2022. “We invested in infrastructure, storage, and the accreditation of outsourced teams. We also purchased a company that is accredited by Cemig (Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais) and authorized to carry out network works,” declared the director.

“Our plan is to double our revenue compared to 2021, and for that, we had to make many decisions to meet the demands. Our investments were made in all sectors: administrative, financial, and tax. We also built stock and made contacts with new suppliers,” concluded Magalhães.

New Legal Framework for Microgeneration

The new law defines the following terms: local self-consumption, local self-consumption, energy consumer consortium, Energy Development Account (CDE), consumer-generator, electricity credit, undertaking with multiple consumer units among other terms that are part of solar energy generation. The new legal framework can be consulted in the Official Gazette of the Union.
