Energisa’s arrival in Amapá is part of the group’s strategy to diversify its activities in electric power transmission. “With the growing energy demand across various sectors of the economy, we are increasing our participation in this field to improve the infrastructure of the Brazilian electric sector and thus ensure supply for consumers across the country,” says Gabriel Mussi, CEO of Energy Generation and Transmission at Energisa. The executive adds that the company’s solid experience in planning and executing large projects, along with the business opportunities offered by the auctions, is the Group’s competitive advantage.
New Projects and Job Openings
With the acquisition of the transmission lot, Energisa’s goal is to increase the reliability and capacity of the transmission system in this region, which needs reinforcements. According to the contract, the company will have to carry out works in Amapá by 2025 to construct a 10-kilometer line with 230kV, connecting the substations Macapá I and Macapá III with a capacity of 300 MVA. With the construction of the new station, Energisa expects to generate 461 direct jobs.

The Energisa Group is recognized for its excellence in operating and maintaining transmission lines and substations. In addition to local teams working directly in the states, the service will be managed by professionals from an operations center and a transmission line maintenance department, both located in Cataguases (MG).
This is the eighth transmission lot acquired by Energisa since 2017. This month, the company purchased Geogroup Paranaíta Energy Transmitting Company for about R$ 100 million, which includes the operation of a substation at the border of the states of Mato Grosso and Pará. In the transmission auction last December, the company won lot 11 located in Amazonas for R$ 63 million in RAP.
The lots located in Pará and Goiás began operations in 2020. Lot 26 (Xinguara II – Santana do Araguaia), in the south of the state, received R$ 318 million in investments and was completed in November of last year, 16 months ahead of the deadline set by Aneel. Meanwhile, lot 3 (Rio Verde Norte – Jataí) started operating in March 2020, with an advance of 17 months and R$ 231 million invested.
Energisa Currently Has Three Lots Under Construction
Energisa currently has three more lots under construction. The first (EPA II), also in Pará, was acquired in the 2018 auction with a RAP of R$ 51.9 million in current values. That same year, the company won another lot (ETT) for R$ 66.1 million in RAP, between Bahia and Tocantins, involving the construction of 772 kilometers of transmission lines.
In June of this year, it won another auction also in Tocantins (ETT II), which includes a new yard at 138 kV of the Gurupi substation and has significant synergy with another project in the state. The investment estimated by Aneel for this new project is R$ 74.9 million and a total RAP of R$ 4.3 million.
