Luxury building changes landscape upon arrival in Maceió
The repercussion began in recent days, after the video started circulating on social media.
In the footage, the construction appears interfering with the sea view in Maceió, one of the most observed landscapes by those passing through the region.
In the comments, internet users lamented the partial loss of the view. One follower stated that it was sad to see a beautiful landscape being occupied by a building.
Meanwhile, other users argued that similar constructions should be prohibited in locations with a significant visual impact.

Development is the Pier Norte Residence, by Engemat
The building under construction is the Pier Norte Residence, a high-standard condominium by the construction company Engemat.
According to an investigation by UOL, confirmed by the newspaper O Globo, more than 90% of the units have already been sold.
Furthermore, according to the disclosed information, the apartments cost between R$ 1.4 million and R$ 8.8 million.
Thus, the development has attracted attention not only for its location but also for the prices of the units.
Construction Company Says Project is Regularized
In a statement, Engemat stated that the project is fully regularized according to the current urban code.
Additionally, the construction company reported that the project complies with the applicable construction process standards.
The company’s statement came after the video went viral and criticisms were made on social media.

Furthermore, the city hall stated that all legal and technical requirements of the licensing process have been met.
New Master Plan Under Debate in the Capital
Finally, the City Hall of Maceió reported that a new master plan for the city is under discussion.
