After 12 Years Stopped In The Federal Police Parking Lot, A 2010 3.0 SRV Hilux Surprised When Passing Through A Detailed Wash. The Result Was So Impressive That The Vehicle, Covered In Moss And Time Marks, Revealed A Practically New Interior And A Repairable Paint Job.

A Toyota Hilux 3.0 SRV from 2010 Spent More Than A Decade Stopped In The Federal Police Parking Lot.

For 12 Years, The Vehicle Was Exposed To The Elements, Accumulating Dirt, Moss, And Lichens, Until It Was Auctioned Off To A Subscriber Of The Channel Project Car Brazil.

What Seemed Like An Impossible Mission Turned Into Content For An Impressive Transformation.

First Inspection: An Initial Shock

The Video Starts With The Channel’s Team Presenting The Hilux Right After Its Arrival. The Car, Covered In Green Crusts, Moss, And Time Marks, Caused Shock Even Among The Most Experienced. “This Is Tough, Really Tough,” Commented The Host While Trying To Remove Some Of The Ground-In Dirt.

Despite Its Scary Appearance Outside, The Interior Of The Pickup Surprised: Leather Seats In Great Condition, A Practically New Dashboard, And Few Signs Of Wear.

Even The Toilet Paper Found Inside The Car Was A Source Of Shock And Laughter.

Destroyed Cover And Intact Taillights

The Passage Of Time Was Crueler To The Exterior. The Marine Cover, Which Had Been Closed For Years, Simply Melted.

The Structure Was Completely Damaged, Evidencing How Much The Sun And Rain Had Struck The Vehicle.

However, The Taillights Were Brand New, As Were The Headlights, Which, With Polishing, Promised To Return To Their Original State.

Wash With Jet And Positive Surprise

Not Functioning, The Hilux Was Washed Right On The Street. The Start Was With A Good Jet Of Water And A Specific Product To Try To Soften The Moss And Lichens.

After Two Washes, The Result Was Already Encouraging. “It Turned Out Better Than I Expected,” Said The Person In Charge While Showing The Side Of The Car, Which Lit Up In Some Spots.

Still, The Hood Remained The Biggest Challenge. The Crusts Left Deep Marks In The Paint, Difficult To Remove With Just The Jet And Automotive Shampoo.

Mechanical Problems And Improvised Solutions

The Bed Wouldn’t Open. The Team Had To Disassemble The System To Avoid Breaking The Key.

After Some Efforts And Injured Fingers, They Managed To Open It.

Inside, A Lot Of Dirt And Signs Of Infiltration. The Water That Dripped Over The Years Left Marks On The Parts Protected By The Bodywork.

Some Areas, Such As The Tailgate And The Fenders, Still Preserved The Original Shine In Certain Spots, Indicating That With Polishing And Patience, It Would Be Possible To Save The Paint.

Practically Intact Interior

While One Of The Responsible Ones Took Care Of The Exterior, Vanessa Was In Charge Of The Interior. With Leather Cleaner And Conditioner, The Seats Returned To A Like-New State.

The Dashboard, Once Cleaned, Revealed A Very Well-Preserved Interior.

With The Use Of Appropriate Products, The Dried Plastic Also Regained Its Shine.

According To The Team, The Leather Made The Cleaning And Preservation Process Much Easier, Being Three Times Easier To Restore Than Fabric Seats.

Time For Polishing: The Hood Resists

With The Exterior Already Free Of The Thick Crust, It Was Time To Polish.

The Hood, The Most Affected, Was The First To Be Tested. Initially, A Rotary Polisher With An Aggressive Pad Was Used. The Result Appeared, But Marks Persisted.

The Next Day, Under Natural Light, Sanding Was Done With 1200 Grit.

The Idea Was To Level The Paint And Try To Remove The Marks Left By The Lichens. The Work Paid Off: There Were Still Scars, But The Shine Reappeared.

Headlights, Roof, And Fenders: Shine Back

With The Hood Reasonably Recovered, The Headlights Were Polished. The Difference Between The Before And After Was Impressive. “It Looks New,” They Said, Showing One Of The Restored Headlights.

The Roof Of The Pickup, Once Opaque And Stained, Received Special Attention With Intense Polishing. The Sides Also Improved A Lot, Showing That There Was Still Life In The Original Paint.

Family Reunited, BBQ And More Work

The Work Turned Into An Event. Family Members Joined The Team To Help With The Heavier Tasks And Also Prepare A Southern-Style BBQ.

Between Each Step Of The Polishing, There Was Time For Mate, Grilled Meat, And Jokes With The Neighbors. Family Unity Ended Up Being One Of The Highlights Of The Day.

Juliano, The Responsible One’s Brother-in-Law, Surprised Everyone By Showing Up To Help With The Final Stage Of The Roof, Considered One Of The Most Complicated. Amid Jokes And Music, The Work Continued Steadily.

Interior Finished With Extractor

The Back Part Of The Cabin Was Even Dirtier Than Expected.

The Dry Mud Stained The Carpet. With The Extractor And Specific Products, The Dirt Was Removed, And The Floor Returned To Its Original Color.

The Internal Cleaning Was Completed With The Application Of Restorer On The Plastics And Dashboard.

The Result Was Impressive: Everything Looked Like New Again. “I Was Worried At First, But It Was Worth It,” Said One Of Those Involved While Showing The Completely Restored Dashboard.

Final Touches And Result

Before Wrapping Up, A Final Wash Was Done To Remove The Dust From The Polishing.

The Pickup, Now Shining, Looked Like A Different Vehicle. Although It Still Carried Scars From Time, The Transformation Was Visible.

The Front With Polished Headlights, Restored Sides, And Clean Interior Completed The Recovery Of A Vehicle That Seemed Lost.
