BYD Introduces Level 4 Autonomous Parking System and Ensures Full Damage Coverage, Even in Case of Software Error
The Chinese manufacturer BYD announced a new feature for its vehicles that promises to transform how drivers handle one of the most common and stressful tasks in traffic: parking.
The company revealed an updated version of the God’s Eye system, now with Level 4 (L4) autonomous driving technology specifically aimed at parking maneuvers.
Furthermore, the manufacturer commits to fully cover all damages caused during the use of the system, even in the event of a software error.

Fully Autonomous Parking
Level 4 autonomous driving allows the vehicle to perform tasks entirely independently, provided the appropriate conditions are met.
In the case of the God’s Eye system, the car can complete the entire parking maneuver by itself, without any intervention from the driver.
According to BYD, the user simply activates the feature and the vehicle takes care of the rest.
The key differentiator, according to the company, lies in the responsibility assumed by the manufacturer. If the car causes any accident during the execution of the autonomous parking, BYD guarantees that it will cover all damages, whether to the vehicle itself, third parties, or even personal injuries—provided the fault lies with the system in a court decision.
Unprecedented Warranty in the Automotive Sector
This commitment to cover costs goes beyond technical support. The company states that the driver does not need to activate traditional insurance in case of problems during parking with God’s Eye. BYD itself will take full responsibility.
The most notable advantage is that this prevents an increase in the driver’s insurance premiums the following year, which can represent significant savings for those who use the system frequently.
The company described the initiative as “the world’s first” of this type of warranty for autonomous parking maneuvers.
Update and Expansion of the Feature
The news doesn’t stop there. BYD has already confirmed a forthcoming OTA (Over-The-Air) update for versions B and C of the God’s Eye system.
This update will bring improvements in parking scenarios, along with a new function featuring three maneuver speeds.
Optimizations in the driving experience and overall system safety are also planned.
The company’s goal is to make the technology increasingly accurate and accessible, focusing on safety in autonomy.
This continuous evolution reinforces BYD’s commitment to making its autonomous features reliable for daily use.
Accelerated Technology Growth
Launched in February 2025, God’s Eye was announced with the aim of democratizing autonomous driving, reaching even the brand’s cheaper models, with prices starting at 69,800 yuan (approximately R$ 52,000 at current exchange rates). Since then, adoption of the system has been growing rapidly.
On July 7, the manufacturer reported that more than 1 million of its vehicles had already left the factory equipped with God’s Eye, signaling the technology’s success in the market and consumer confidence in the proposition.
With the unprecedented warranty for accidents during parking and the system update, BYD consolidates another important step in the race for autonomous solutions in the automotive sector.
