New Mining Opportunities in Tiros: Investment of R$ 500 Million in Rare Earths and Titanium Generates Expectation of 200 New Direct Jobs!

A major step for mining in Minas Gerais! Resouro Strategic Metals, a Canadian subsidiary, announced that it will invest up to R$ 500 million in the extraction of rare earths and titanium in Tiros, located between the Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba. With this investment, the forecast is to generate up to 200 direct jobs in the region, boosting the local economy.

Start of Operations Expected for 2026

The operations of Tiros Strategic Minerals are scheduled to begin in 2026. Resouro, which is based in Belo Horizonte and is listed on the stock exchanges of Toronto, Australia, and the OTCQB in the United States, specializes in the development of critical mineral resources essential for decarbonization technologies, such as electric vehicles and wind turbines, according to the website hojeemdia.

Tiros Project: Significant Potential

Since 2023, the company has been investing in mineral research in the Tiros Project – Rare Earths and Titanium. So far, an impressive reserve of about 1 billion tons of ore has been identified, with significant concentrations of titanium oxide (12%) and magnetic rare earths (4000 ppm). The main elements present in this deposit include Neodymium (Nd), Praseodymium (Pr), Dysporosium (Dy), and Terbium (Tm), essential for various technological applications.

Impact on Local Development

Fernando Passalio, Secretary of State of Economic Development, states that this project consolidates Minas Gerais as a strategic and competitive destination for investors in sustainable technological solutions. “This investment will strengthen the local production chain, generating qualified jobs and promoting regional development, as well as reinforcing our commitment to the Race to Zero,” he declared.

A Cycle of Innovation and Sustainability

João Paulo Braga, President of Invest Minas, emphasized the importance of Resouro’s arrival for generating a cycle of employment, income, and innovation in the region. “The potential for rare earths and titanium in Minas positions the state at the center of global discussions on technological security and energy transition,” he added.

These minerals are essential for the production of superconductors, advanced batteries, medical prosthetics, and high-strength alloys, indispensable for sectors such as renewable energy, electric mobility, and aerospace industry.

Minas Gerais in the Spotlight with Investment in Rare Earths

With significant investments like this, Minas Gerais positions itself as a hub of innovation and development in mining, opening new opportunities and consolidating its importance on the global stage. Rare earths and titanium are more than resources; they are the key to the sustainable future of technology and the economy.

200 empregos diretos…isso é uma piada ou oque??
A verdade é que esse governador quer vender Minas Gerais aos estrangeiros.
Agora quem vai ganhar com isso com certeza não é a população mineira…
