With Depleted Stocks and Total Blockade, UN Warns of Mass Hunger in Gaza Strip as Victims Rise and International Appeal for Urgent Aid Increases
The UN World Food Program announced that its food aid stocks in Gaza are completely depleted. The situation is the result of the total blockade imposed by Israel, which has lasted for eight weeks.
The Gaza Government Press Office issued a warning that the blockade has put over 1 million children at risk of hunger. Local authorities urgently appealed for the entry of food, medicine, and fuel into the Gaza Strip.
Amid the crisis, the Ministry of Health of the enclave reported that the bodies of 84 people killed in Israeli attacks arrived at Gaza hospitals in the last 24 hours. Among them, six bodies were recovered from previous attack sites.

Since the outbreak of the war 18 months ago, at least 51,439 Palestinians have been killed and 117,416 have been injured. The Gaza Government Press Office updated these figures, stating that the death toll has already surpassed 61,700, including thousands missing under the rubble, presumed dead.
The conflict began following Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023. At that time, at least 1,139 people were killed in Israel, and more than 200 were taken hostage.
The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip continues to deteriorate rapidly, with shortages of food, medicine, and fuel further exacerbating the devastation.
The international appeal for immediate humanitarian aid is growing amid the extreme hardships faced by the local population.
