The Pulp Factory Project Of Suzano In Ribas Do Rio Pardo
The new Suzano unit, dubbed “Projeto Cerrado” in reference to its geographical location in Mato Grosso do Sul, will increase the company’s current pulp production capacity by approximately 20%. In addition, the factory in Ribas do Rio Pardo will be the company’s most competitive factory.
Walter Schalka, CEO of Suzano, says that this new factory will represent an important advancement in the company’s long-term strategy. He also emphasizes that the new unit in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul will provide a significant contribution to income and job generation for the region, as well as to carbon capture capacity from the expansion of the forest base.

Goodbye to workers assembling rebar on construction sites: intelligent robot carries and positions more than 2.2 tons of rebar per hour, ties 1,200 intersections per hour, and promises to cut up to 50% of the schedule in bridge construction projects.

End of bricklayers laying brick by brick: robot places more than 2,000 bricks per day, automatically applies cement, works with only one human operator next to the machine, and transforms traditional masonry into a high-speed semi-automated operation.

The bridge that collapsed in seconds after being hit by a ship in Baltimore will be reborn as a cable-stayed bridge: Maryland signed $4.8 billion in four contracts for a 508-meter span specifically designed to withstand the impact of a giant cargo ship.

End of the tape measure, marking line, and subfloor error: robot prints the project directly on the construction site floor, creates layout up to 10 times faster, and marks 10,000 to 15,000 square feet per day with one person.
The new unit could mitigate the effects of climate change related to the increase in renewable energy generation capacity in the country, with the capacity to export approximately 180 MW on average to Brazil’s electric system. This new Suzano project is on track to be the first unit in the pulp and paper sector in the country considered free of fossil fuel, a new milestone for the company in eco-efficiency, highlighting its commitment to society and the planet.
The project’s realization, which will have the capacity to produce 2.3 million tons of eucalyptus pulp annually, will result in the largest single-line pulp factory in the world, but it still depends on preconditions, such as meeting the parameters established in Suzano’s Financial Policy and negotiations with suppliers. The Projeto Cerrado will have as its main source of funds the company’s cash generation, which may be complemented by financing, provided the conditions are attractive in terms of cost and duration.
The Unit Of Eldorado Brasil
The company’s pulp factory has a nominal capacity to produce 1.5 million tons of pulp per year, but in 2017 it surpassed the mark of 1.7 million tons produced, establishing a new benchmark for the industry located in Três Lagoas (MS). Currently, the plant is capable of producing more than 1.8 million tons of pulp per year.
In addition to the industrial complex, the company has a vast forest base in Mato Grosso do Sul, covering a total area of over 230 thousand hectares. To support this robust operation – which also includes the entire logistics, commercial, and corporate team – the company relies on the work of nearly 4 thousand people.
